The Expertise of Dignity First, Inc.

Consultation to 65-bed assisted living facility in north Texas for staff training, activities programming, and environmental risk management strategies.  The facility was vulnerable to legal action from harm to residents due to improper understanding of dementia and mental illness. The resident mix was elders with dementia and younger people with chronic psychiatric illnesses.  The proposal required site visit, discussions with administration and corporate management, and review of care procedures and resident incidents.   The consultation resulted in a comprehensive proposal for staff training, facility safety improvements, activity programming, and admissions revisions to provide a safe environment for the residents.
